The camera rotating around.

There is never a reason to remove interface control from the player.

I have always hated the way the camera angle changes and begins to revolve when you die, forcing you to re-adjust it to stop the spinning and stop staring at the top of your head. Even when farming I never use the /resign command because I'd rather map back and spend time walking to the portal than to be constantly fiddling with the camera.

More often than not, you want to be looking in a different direction when you rez. Most of the time, it will be in the direction you were looking in while you were taking your nap.

I do that. Then it moves when I rez. Congratulations! You found the problem!

Its not an issue in PvE, but in PvP there are many times I need to be doing something immediately upon resurrection and the things I need to be doing do not include adjusting my camera.

If you have some pro tips to never dying in PvP I'm all ears.

I always have to spin my character around when the shrines bring me back. At least spin it from the the other angle or something.

I think It (the rotation upon death) is a anti-bot measure, since it sabotages a neat navigation upon death. This removes "landmarks" from the bots. Thats why they use target closest ally, etc.

If it was removed, Bots would swarm. Since the hindrance for navigation would be gone.

Not that it has stopped the current bots that has adapted to the environment.

@Roupe: blocking asian accounts from accessing the rest of the servers has proven highly effective in cutting off gold farmers.

I think Roupe has a point. Getting any note on being killed and rezed would just mean auto-running to the next teleport/post or whatever they have in mind. That doesn't mean it's gonna affect players who use follow bots or scripts that pick up next locations automatically (yellow portal = yellow quarry)

Zahr - Even with the asian servers blocked off, we still have other bots to contend with. Until the penalties get overhauled and include some real consequences, punks will still play away from their keyboards thinking they got a free ride coming.

I am fairly sure that Anet ALWAYS knew about botting. Botting in Guild Wars is FAR from the first instance of an MMO Bot. Bots had been used for a long time before Guild Wars and I'd bet that this auto rotation is part of their fight against it.

Back when we still had the gold farmers and their ad spamming, ArenaNet tried cutting the asians off from the players.

Every single bot, gold selling spammer, bulk tome seller, etc, vanished. Completely.

Then they let the asians back when the one or two actual players there whined, and the bots and gold sellers immediately reappeared.

I don't know how to put this other than, you are wrong, that is not how bots work, they don't use camera rotation to judge situations the way a player does.

Furthermore it is not affecting bots. As such any (already unfounded) argument of "its to reduce bots" is irrelevant. I'll tell you what it is affecting, real players.
